December 7th 1941, Originals

There were 3 photographers taking photos that infamous day, December 7th 1941. Recording the events as they happened.

In May 2007, one of those 3 died and his family was selling off his estate. Among the items that were up for auction were the 120 photos he took that morning. The Negatives are with the national archives, what was sold were the personal copies he made shortly after the attack.

I won 5 of those original photos. These are universally recognized and uncropped originals taken that fateful morning.

I present 2 of the better known photos, The top being the USS Arizona, the bottom being the USS California and USS Pennsylvania with the oily smoke off the Arizona. You can see the water spotting on the bottom photo from when he made these copies for himself.
